YANNIQUE'S UNIQUE NEW ROOM
The doorway was just that...just a doorway.....BORING!!!
Oh and there was a t.v. and LOTS AND LOTS of wires.
STEP 1:
This was NO easy task. I had to first tape the enitire room for the first layer of stripes-The purple and white. I had to be extremely careful to make sure my lines were not only straight but equal distance from eachother. I had all this to do, while hopping over piles of wayyyy too much stuff!
STEP 2:
6 HOURS later, the purple and white stripes where FINALLY completed. No I had to outline those stripes with the blue tape to prepare for the black stripes, as well as the ceiling trim and the floor trim.
STEP 3:
After waiting for the paint to dry and peeling the tape I did a touch up with a fine brush for all missed spots..........
STEP 4:
TA DAAAAAA!
When the closet door was closed you really had to take a double take to realize that there was even a closet door there!
I also took a wooden boring chair she had a room and covered it with some lime green, purple polka dot material to make it pop. I also finished it off with a zebra printed ribbon around the back tp tie it in to the room.
Just like yellow was used as a secondary color in the room....Polka dots was used as a secondary print. I made window curtains out of black and white polka dot material and made a yellow accent drape. 3 mirrors on each side of the window were used to lengthen the eye scope of the window.
The white tall shelf wasnt goint to cut it.......I painted the back wall and the outsides of the shelf with the chalkboard paint for fun. All of her magazines finally had a place. Rosey the fighting fish's tank was pimped out with a zebra ribbon and all of her fun ornaments and collectible Barbies were displayed.
As you make your way around the bed, you see her furniture doesnt look quite the same anymore. I painted her dressers black and added fun stickers on them for some personality. I covered her radiator with what ued to be her orange window curtain and accented it with a zebra panel of material. Her cluttered dresser had now become her entertainment top with the wires strategically hidden in the corner out of site thank heavens!
A turquoise carpet here ....a cute cute tu tu there.......And now everything had its place and there was finally a place for everything!15 HOURS later....Yannique stood in her purple shirt to coordinate with her brand new room very happy and ready to be inspired.
Ahhhhhhhhh.....another satisfied client!!!

THE Red ROOM! - A Man's Room!
(I've Got To Get a Better Camera....ugh!)
ANYWAY.....HOPE YOU LIKE! : )
Each section of the room celebrates an idol in this man's life.
Horrible Pictures..but you get the point until Im able to upgrade! lol
Watch tv with Biggie. Both speakers painted black and turned into end tables by placing red and white accent candles atop them.
Handle business by Scarface. I dont think any man's room is complete without Scarface memorabilia. Wooden computer desk painted simple black was all this corner needed.
Last but not least...enter the room to the sight of Jordan. Simple end table painted black with a display bowl of rocks and candles. Keeping the floors wood made all the furniture POP!

What SWEET [16] DREAMS are made of!
Bridgeview is very elegant. Dark hard wood floors, crown molding....the works! This set up would be PERFECT...for a wedding or a banquet.....but we were trying to throw a hot sweet 16!!!
1st: attention must be drawn AWAY from the detail of elegance and back to the basics!
2nd: Figure out a way to showcase this small dancefloor WITHOUT making it look closed and congested. Find a way to give the teens privacy....but not TOO MUCH privacy
(if you know what i mean!)
So thats just what we did- Draped the dancefloor with curtains from ceiling to floor. Two sides had three curtains each drawn to their centers. The head of the dance floor had only one curtain. We still wanted it to be inviting to all. Toward the back of the dance floor ENTERTAINMENT TONITE set up an awesome front board, plasma and spandex truss display. Add color changing LED lighting in a stage box, elations( lights programed by a lighting technician during the entire party), a stargazer(twinkling stars saturate the space) and a couple of black lights.....ta daaaaaa!
-I only wish my camera didnt have flash-these pics only do half its justice!
Gabby's Grown Up Room!
BUT-What do you make of the space that doesn't define your post college years???
Gabby's room was pink with green trim (cute...i guess), however she was looking for a more mature space to inspire the remainder of her stay at home.
First-The pink and green needed to be modified. Still keeping those colors in the back of my mind.....I painted the walls camel tan and accented them with a black trim. -Oh so sophisticated!
I then gutted out the closet, took the doors off the hinges and custom made a desk for her office purposes. Painted it lime green to jump past the camel walls and black trim (and keeping the green in the color scheme.) Hung a pearl chandelier and it turned into a fabulous work space.
I always try to add the most personal touches where ever I can and fortunately I was able to add a big one in this room. A custom designed pink, black, grey, green, and brown wall was the plan. 7 Hours later...it was a reality!
As for her 100+ shoe collection- I installed 6 floating shelves to the wall and decoratively displayed ALL of them!
Gabby also happened to have an extensive bag collection. I decided to make a work of art out of those too! Staggered hooks on a wall and 25 pocket books later, we had a wall of art!
Add some candles, pillows, a picture here and and there and we have a Perfectly Grown UP Room!
